Dear Friends,
We are the Steering Committee for the Solidarity Movement for a Free Palestine (SFP) and we are very pleased to provide you with further information about SFP, and invite you to join us this Olive Harvest as we resist the illegal occupation of Palestine.
SFP was launched in August 2013 by a group of Palestinians active in the non-violent resistance movement in Palestine. We sought to build on the great work of international solidarity groups over the years, and create a new movement that had Palestinians at its heart, planning and undertaking non-violent resistance against the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine, with support from our international friends.
Therefore, we would like to invite you to join us in our first campaign, the olive harvest. As you will all know this is not only a symbolic action across Palestine but a vital source of income for farmers, who have seen their lands stolen, trees burnt, denial of access and physical assault at the hands of the occupation. We will initially be focusing our solidarity and resistance on the northern area of the occupied West Bank.

Finally friends we have a request. As I am sure you appreciate we require funds to establish ourselves covering expenses such as the accomodation for our international friends (already in place in Nablus). All funds are the responsibility of the Steering Committee, which are accountable to our donors. While we are endeavouring to keep our expenses to a minimum and feel strongly that as Palestinians we should not seek financial payment for resisting our lands, inevitably to be viable some expenses are likely. We would be very grateful if you would consider donating to SFP to help us establish ourselves, however small, and we thank you in advance.
